Terms of Use
Last updated July 2026
Welcome to Football Institute. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Football Institute website, courses, pathways, community, and related services (together, the “Service”), operated by Football Institute (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Football Institute is a nonprofit whose mission is to make high-quality football education freely available to everyone in the game — coaches, analysts, scouts, players, referees, and other practitioners. Access to courses is, and is intended to remain, free of charge.
2. Your account
You need an account to enrol in courses and take part in the community. You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to create an account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users’ accounts;
- post unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, or infringing content;
- scrape, resell, or commercially redistribute course content without our written permission;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation.
We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these Terms.
4. Content and intellectual property
Course materials, text, graphics, logos, and software on the Service are owned by Football Institute or our instructors and licensors, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the materials for your own learning.
You retain ownership of content you submit (for example, community posts, comments, and assignments). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service.
5. Certificates and diplomas
Certificates and pathway diplomas recognise your completion of the relevant courses. They are issued for your personal and professional use and may be shared or verified via their public link. They do not constitute a formal academic qualification unless expressly stated on the credential.
6. Donations
The Service is free. Donations are voluntary and help keep it that way. Except where required by law or stated otherwise at the time of your gift, donations are non-refundable. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” for educational purposes. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and course content is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or safeguarding advice. You are responsible for how you apply what you learn.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Football Institute will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
